Kaiana’s family has been on Kauai as far back as history can trace. Making fires has always been a source of bonding for Kaiana and his family. He grew up watching and helping his elders build imu pits for family gatherings. Whether it was for cooking or for warmth, fire has been an integral piece of his life.

He has 4 children as well as 4 beautiful grandchildren who he credits as his daily inspiration. He’s also proud to be involved in helping those on Kauai who may be struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction. Kaiana himself has been living sober for over 2 years and credits this accomplishment to the love and support he has received from many amazing people in our community. “Everything I have is a blessing from God” Kaiana says.

He started Hawaiian Heat in 2022 offering mobile fire pits as well as firewood for sale and custom built imu pits (an ancient traditional underground oven).
